The ingredients needed to make Umm ali:
- Take 5-6 puff pastry wrappers,1 litre milk, condensed milk,
- Get Thick cream,dry fruits powder
This sweet dish is nothing, but an equivalent of bread pudding prepared with puff pastry rolls, milk, vanilla essence, sugar, nuts and raisins. Just like the dish itself, there are a few variations on whom the dishes name refers to. Umm Ali, also called om Ali (translated to Ali's Mother) is a national dish of Egypt. This scrumptious dessert is a Middle Eastern version of bread pudding and is often served with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on top.
Steps to make Umm ali:
- Cut the puff in small pieces, air-fry it or bake it
- Then boil the milk and add the baked puff in it, add condensed milk, cream sugar and dry fruits powder, boil until the milk is half
- Then transfer in a baking dish and bake in oven for 10 minutes
- Garnish with pistachios and almonds and it's ready to serve
